About Gemma

‘Nua’ means ‘renewal’ in Gaelic - a nod to the energy shift and sense of renewal that comes from taking time to care for yourself.

Having made the leap from corporate life to follow my passion for movement and wellbeing, my mission is to impart that feeling onto others as often as I can.

I started out in London reformer studios before moving to the seaside, where life took on a new rhythm with my little boy. Along the way, I trained for my diploma and became a Master Practitioner, expanding my skills to teach pre and post-natal populations as well as Pilates for orthopaedic conditions.

Originally from Ireland, I’ve always been inspired by nature, and I bring a calm, grounded energy into every session. But I also love the 'craic', so I like to leave clients with a smile on their faces.

I’m also trained in Reiki, which informs my holistic approach to movement, helping clients feel restored and connected - whether they’re coming to build strength, improve mobility, or simply take a little time for themselves.

Our mum and baby pilates classes

At nua, we create a calm, supportive space where you can move your body, reconnect with yourself, and spend a bit of time giving back to you.

Our sessions designed for mums with a focus on strength, core & pelvic floor recovery, mobility, and feeling confident in and connected to your body again.

Think mindful movement, a challenge in a nice way, and a welcoming space to get out and meet other mums.

Exercises are layered so that classes are suitable for everyone from complete pilates novices, to those who are after more of a challenge.

Babies are very welcome, so that nothing gets in the way of you showing up for yourself.
